Today I am writing about how to sew a basic placket. A placket consist of three pieces. The shirt front, right, and left plackets. To begin, sew right placket to shirt front with right side of placket facing wrong side of shirt. Sew a 3/4 inch seam from
the top, stopping 1/4" from bottom of slit. Next fold the other edge of placket 1/4 inches. See( fig. b2). Then fold in half ,covering seam and stitches. Pin in place. Sew through all thickness. Begin left placket the same as right placket. Then fold edges 1/4". Fold in half . Press and pin in place.Turn in bottom 3/4 inches. Sew all the way around and across placket meeting stitches. End with a back stitch.
